Another year has gone by, I don’t know about all of you, but time has been flying. It’s already been 3 years of living on the island and soon we’ll be onto our next duty station.
I’m eager for the new year to be here and all the adventures that it will hold. Not just my many hiking adventures, but the life adventures. We have so many plans for 2016 and we can’t wait to see them all unfold.
Lets take a look at my year of adventures.
The mister finally got to venture the Big Island. When we moved to Oahu, visiting all the islands was a must on our list.
We conquered the highest point on Oahu at Mount Ka’ala. It was definitely a trying hike, but it was worth all that fatigue in the end.
Did my least favorite hike in the world, Koko Head. You can just see my joy in the picture.
Went on a cage-free shark dive and it was definitely one of my highlights for the year.
Went to the Navy Submarine Birthday Ball as a couple. Last year, the ladies went stag and definitely owned the dance floor. I’m still trying to find another reason to wear my dress from the ball.

The adventuring never ceased. Since we’ll be leaving the island soon, I’ve made it my life goal to always hike no matter what state or country we end up in.
Oh yeah, I jumped ship and got my blog onto wordpress!
I went sailing for the first time, the mister has tried for so long to get me out there on the water. And I finally caved and it was another great memory.
We island hopped to Moloka’i and Lana’i; it was the last two islands on our list to visit.
Went to my first Comic Con, it wasn’t THE Comic Con, but it’s the best Oahu may get for a very long time. I loved seeing all the cosplay and can’t wait until the day I’ll make it to the San Diego Comic Con!
Went ziplining for the first time for my 27th birthday, maybe next year I’ll go skydiving. Who knows.
Said one too many farewells before my long trip to the mainland. Completely thankful for the friendships that I’ve made during our journey on the island.
Since we started dating, we have always spent every holiday together and this year was our first one apart. It wasn’t as tough as I thought it would be, but that’s because I was with my family. It was a good holiday season overall.
x | cheers to 2016.
